Mira La Mer

Formerly 'a pier drawn in chalk'

In late 2013, I set a goal to create and produce a new original play by mid 2014. The subsequent nine months saw a team of people join together in very uncertain circumstances, and yielded A Pier Drawn In Chalk at The Secret Theatre in Queens, New York. The next two years witnessed extensive editing of the script, which was accepted by Cleveland Public Theatre in 2016 for their development program under the name Mira La Mer

My role in the process: Playwright and Artistic Director.

The takeaway: be bold, and let the journey be the length it will be.

MADAME DIRECTOR

Don't Look

Written by Gina Doherty. Produced by Turn To Flesh Productions in New York City. Summer of 2015.

It’s always awesome to work with actors who make your ideas work more beautifully than you could have yourself. It was an unexpected blessing to be in the room with actors of such abandon.

Produced by None Too Fragile Theater in Akron Ohio. August 2016.

Directed by Sean Derry.

Role: Kelly.

This play and role were intense, exhausting and challenging. Working with None Too Fragile was one of the highlights of my time in Ohio.

And I received a 'Superior Achievement' mention from The Cleveland Critics Circle for my performance!

"Every Little Thing You Love"

by The Bynars

Directed by: Jean-Paul Discisio

Role: The Girl

Working with Jean-Paul on my first film was more than I could have ever asked for. I learned a lot, got to play a geeky girl in love with an alien, and made some friends along the way. Who could ask for more?

A play about the trials of living in NYC, masterfully crafted to traverse the windings of human nature within one apartment building.

Midnight, Streetlight Smalltown

Role: Theresa

The 5th Wall Theatre Company kicked butt producing a devised, interactive, immersive play set in a 1950's cafe as their first production. It was great fun to be a part of such a process, and I look forward to every chance I get to work with them in the future.
